Complaints of carnal access and sexual abuse against Jacinto López

Caracol Radio learned details of two of the complaints filed against the now athletics coach and who lives in the municipality of Paipa.

The most serious is in the office of Prosecutor 349 of the city of Bogotá, under file CUI No. 151766000112202000125, according to the assessment that Legal Medicine made to one of the victims, she recounted:

“My athletic trainer José Jacinto López López abused me from the time I was 12 until I was 19, when it all started, I think he was 40 or 42 years old. At first he harassed me and touched me, he told me that I couldn't be with a boy my age, that I should be with him and that I was very pretty, he said it when no one was there, everything happened in Paipa in the house that he I had for the training of the children and in hotels in Bogotá or near Paipa”.

The story of the abused girl continues, “at first he touched my legs and breasts over my clothes, the first time he forced me to have sexual relations with him I was a virgin, I was 14 years old, he He took me to the room, laid me down on the bed, took off my clothes and penetrated me…”.

In the document known by Caracol Radio, the woman who is now of legal age recalls that “she never wanted to use a condom, and in 2015, she recounts, when I was 16 years old I got pregnant with him and he made me have an abortion when I was about 4 months of gestation.

“Five years passed until I told my mom, I felt very bad about the abortion, when I found out I was pregnant I tried to commit suicide, that's when they took me to the clinic to find out how many months pregnant I was, it took me a relative of his to a clinic in Bogotá”, he recounts.

Caracol Radio sought testimonies from relatives of those who would be other victims of the coach and we managed to speak with the father of another girl. The man told us how he found out about what her daughter experienced and the hell she has been suffering from her since she turned 14, which was when Jacinto López began to harass her.

When his daughter told him what had happened, he withdrew her from the Corriendo – Ando foundation, owned by the ex-athlete based in Paipa, and immediately filed a complaint that is now in the Eighth Duitama prosecutor's office.

Currently her daughter is undergoing treatment with family welfare and a foundation, as her life has definitely changed.

We learned of a document sent to the Athletics League of the department of Boyacá by the lawyer Rodrigo Mahecha Garavito, who represents one of the victims, in which he informs them of the facts that muddy acting as a trainer or coach of departmental athletics promises to Mr. José Jacinto López López, a person who was denounced for the alleged crime of abusive carnal access with a child under 14 years of age.

A similar document was sent by the lawyer to Supermercados y Droguerías Olímpica, because at the time of the denounced facts that company acted as sponsor of the athletics team directed by Mr. Jacinto López, in the same way it is sought that by the entity, is the request made by the lawyer of one of the victims, that the corresponding investigations be carried out and the necessary measures be taken.

Caracol Radio contacted Jacinto López, who confirmed that he is aware of the issue, has no concerns, that he has evidence of people who want to harm him for not following the league's guidelines and announces legal action against the president of the League of Athletics of Boyacá, José Baudilio López and the father of the girl with whom we spoke, assured that he had already appeared at the prosecutor's office in Duitama and Bogotá.

Finally, he said in a statement that he has made the decision to step aside from the charges that he has been holding as a public servant until justice is ruled.
