gHow often do you wash your gym clothes? you're doing it right?
In order to move properly and have an effective workout, it is necessary to have the correct clothes, the jeans will hurt your legs and your feet will suffer if you decide to go running with a pair of Converse (there are special running shoes ), and those special clothes also need some care to last longer and avoid problems, such as an infection, fungus or acne in areas that should not have.
For your exercise routine to really work and start producing results, you need to be consistent and train multiple days a week (preferably 4), which means you're going to be spending a lot of time in those workout clothes that you bought to motivate yourself, but since no one needs 50 pairs of leggings to run, that means that, on multiple occasions, you're going to end up wearing the same thing multiple times in the same week, which begs the question, how often should you wash gym clothes after wearing them?
We all know that some pieces of clothing do not need to be washed very often (jeans, for example, should only be washed when absolutely necessary, each wash wears them out a little), but when it comes to clothes for exercise, keeping it clean is necessary, otherwise it may start to affect the skin.
Mary Gagliardi, the famed Dr. Laundry (aka an expert on laundry issues), explains that she normally recommends washing after each use, but, she acknowledges, most people don't have time for it (plus that washing clothes every day is a waste of water) and, therefore, the smell test is the way to go to decide if it is time to wash a piece of clothing.
