The rains, the fog and the cold prevent you from hanging your clothes on many occasions outside the house and you only have to do it inside. And aside, given the uncertainty of weather changes, in the winter and until the heat arrives, tend directly to the home to avoid problems.
Now, this decision not only has negative connotations for your pocket, which we will find out why, but also for your health, especially due to problems derived from humidity.
And it is that these have been the conclusions reached by a study of the Mackintosh School of Architecture (Scotland), which has concluded that hanging clothes inside the house affects a lot.
According to this university, it negatively affects the pocket because it is not efficient. The main reason is that, unless you have almost infinite patience, you need to either open the windows or turn up the heating so that the air circulates in the first case and the temperature rises in the second.
And both paths lead to the same destination. If you open the windows, you will be forced to turn on the heating or any system to heat the house later, which increases energy costs and, therefore, the bill. And if the heating is on, then more of the same.
Humidity is not a good companion and can affect health because it increases the formation of mold spores and dust mites. It can even end in lung infections and problems in the respiratory system. On the other hand, the fact that more dust is generated means that it is easier to have allergies and also in the generation of annoying mites.
The first of all, but not within the reach of all pockets or all households, is to have a clothes dryer, but of course the energy cost also rises considerably compared to if it is done naturally. In any case, there are little tricks, such as taking advantage of the fact that the washing machines have the option of spinning the clothes, a short program that can be put on just when it is finished. And another one that the university indicates is hanging on hangers so that the air runs through all the sides of the garment and dries.
