No less than 27 years old, the youngest coach in the category and the oldest are taken. Borja Jiménez, Deportivo's coach, is 36 years old, and Miguel Álvarez, in charge of the Villarreal subsidiary, is 63.
The average age of the 40 coaches of the First RFEF is 45.8 years. Six technicians in Group II and four in Group I, 25%, are over 50 years of age. In general, young coaches prevail, those in their forties. With less than forty years of age there are four technicians in Group I and two in Group II. There is hardly any difference in age between the two groups, 45.1 in Group I and 46.6 in Group II.
Of the 40 coaches, 17 players have played in the First or Second Division, 42.5%. The percentage increases to 52.5% if we add to those who did it at least in Segunda B, four other coaches: Sandroni, Casañ, Parra and Mere.
At the end of last season, eleven coaches were occupying the same position in Group I and eight coaches in Group II, a total of 19, 47.5%. Keeping on the bench in this category is very complicated, a toss up. Only ten technicians would have been in their position for more than three seasons starting this one and if we talk about more seasons they would be counted on the fingers of one hand. Of course, the majority, the vast majority, have already directed at least in Second B. In Group I, Julio Baptista will debut on the bench of the third step of Spanish football in the Valladolid subsidiary, Imanol de la Sota in Athletic and Eduardo Docampo in Calahorra. In Group II there are no newcomers... The percentage in the First RFEF would be 7.5% of novice technicians. Opportunities are hard to come by.
The only foreign coach is the Argentine Héctor Sandroni, although he retired as a player in Spain and has spent his entire coaching career in Spain. It is vital to know first-hand this very special category... The First RFEF will still have many reminiscences of Second B.
Santander Racing / Guillermo Ferández Romo
42 years old. Signed from Cornellà. His last two seasons at the Catalan club have served him to reach the bench of one of the historical clubs. He also achieved a meritorious stay with Ejea in Segunda B.

His brother, Pirri Mori, was a professional soccer player, and he started training very young.

Zamora FC / David Movilla
41 years old. Fourth season of the Bilbao coach at Zamora. A rarity in the category. He was at Leioa and Barakaldo.
Celta B / Onésimo Sánchez

Sports / Borja Jiménez
36 years old. He arrives free after having led Cartagena in Second Division. He is the youngest coach of the First RFEF, he takes three days from Rubén de la Barrera, and one of those with the most projection. He started at the Valladolid subsidiary and has gone through Izarra, Rápido de Bouzas, Mirandés and Asteras Trípoli before returning to Spain. Two promotions to Second with Mirandés and Cartagena is no small feat.
Racing Ferrol / Cristóbal Parralo
53 years old, although he turns another in August. He did very well when he came in the middle of last season and has gained the confidence to continue. He won titles as a footballer and as a coach he has experienced one of lime and another of sand. His first lap in the Second Division with Alcorcón in 18/19 was brilliant.
Tudelano / Javier Olaizola
51 years old. New investors led by the Argentine Guillermo Pereyra and new coach. Javier Olaizola did very well at Arenas and with very young people, now he will have a bigger challenge. He was the right side of Mallorca for almost a decade in the elite. He led the vermillion subsidiary and the first team in two stages during a brief period.
Bilbao Athletic / Imanol de la Sota
46 years old. The difficult mission of replacing Joseba Etxebarria after two good seasons has fallen to Imanol de la Sota, who was his second at Baskonia. Last season he coached the División de Honor youth with whom he won Group II. He previously trained the Durango Cultural in Third Division and the Eibar youth team. His second will be Gurpegui.
Real Union / Aitor Zulaika
43 years old. The borderers continue to bet on a highly valued coach who already triumphed at the Stadium Gal and to whom he returned last season after leaving Real B. Trained in Zubieta, he was able to put Real Unión in the play-off for promotion to Segunda in the 14/15. He was on loan from Real. He also won the RFEF Cup in 2015.
Calahorra / Eduardo Docampo
47 years old. The man from Bilbao has roots in Calahorra and a peculiar trajectory. He went through Lezama but in 2012 he went to Russia to work in grassroots football and since then he has not stopped: Belarus, Qatar, Ukraine and the last few seasons he was in Russia with Rubin Kazan U-17 as assistant coach and at FC Ufa , of the Russian Premier also as assistant coach. Second B, now First RFEF, will sound Chinese...
UD Logroñés / Mere

In that category he played defense for eight seasons.

In Second B he has trained nine seasons and two in Second, although he did not finish any.
Extremadura / Manuel Mosquera
52 years old. He fought until the end to get Extremadura into the final phase and he almost succeeded. The Galician was a legend in Almendralejo already as a player.
Doge International / Alfredo Santaelena
53 years old. He signed a splendid campaign like the gamers but with all the uncertainty experienced in the Madrid club, his renewal was not announced until July 20. He was everything as a player and as a coach he has had a dispersed career. He went down three in a row to Third with Cobeña, Ibiza and Marbella. He directed the Atlético subsidiary and San Sebastián de los Reyes also in the bronze division. Soccer man.
Rayo Majadahonda / Abel Gómez
39 years old. The Sevillian has even more experience as a player than as a coach. He led 45 games for Atlético Sanluqueño in Second B in two stages and eight games for Rayo last season after replacing the legendary Iriondo. The Majariegos have wanted to give continuity to a young coach.
San Sebastián de los Reyes / Marcos Jiménez.
44 years old. Casquero, sports director of the Madrid team, continues to bet on Marcos after a good campaign that took them to the final phase. The coach already stood out at Internacional in Segunda B. He made his debut in the bronze division with a relegation with the modest Trival Valderas and then saved Inter Madrid twice.
Talavera de la Reina / Victor Cea
37 years old. The man from Madrid is one of the youngest technicians in the category and in addition to the few who remain in office. In Segunda B he has directed Unión Adarve, Cultural Leonesa and Melilla. He also worked for a few months with the Qatar U-19 team.
SD Logroñés / Raúl Llona
44 years old. The man from La Rioja returns home where he played and trained after having led Alavés B last season eight games after the dismissal of Iñaki Alonso, of which he was second. Raúl Sáenz del Rincón has struggled as a coach in the Third Division with SD Logroñés himself, Anguiano and San Ignacio within the Alavés structure, although his career began in the UDL, whom he coached for a season and a half in Second B. As a footballer he reached debut in Primera with the old Logroñés in Primera, although most of his career was spent in Segunda B.
GROUP II
Albacete / Rubén de la Barrera
36 years old. After his strange departure from Déporter he undermined another of the roosters in the category. He is one of the technicians with the division's poster after getting promoted with the Cultural.
Atletico Baleares / Xabi Calm
39 years old. He replaced Jordi Roger, of whom he was second, last season and they have given him continuity. Out of eight games, they won six, drew one and lost the other.
Barcelona B / Sergi Barjuan
49 years old. García Pimienta had been in the Barça subsidiary for four seasons and fresh air comes with Sergi, a legend of the club in which he played 386 games. As a coach, he started at Juvenil B del Barcelona, from 2009 to 2011, and then he was at Recreativo de Huelva, Almería, RCD Mallorca and Zhenjiang Greentown in China.
Nástic / Raúl Agné

44 years old. The former soccer player comes from the Penya Deportiva bench, where he spent two seasons in Segunda B, to replace Fernández Romo, who has set the bar high for him.
Real Madrid Castilla / Raúl González Blanco

Linen Football / Romerito
44 years old. Antonio Manuel Ruiz Fernández was already known as Romerito in his football days. The Sevillian played many years in Segunda B, although he was also sporadically in the silver division with Xerez and Recre. He even played three games in the First Division with Mallorca with a debut and a goal at the Bernabéu. As a technician he is starting. He directed the Xerez youth team, two seasons at Rota and the last one at Sanluqueño in Segunda B, 19 games, until he was dismissed.
Algeciras / Iván Ania

Betis Deportivo / Manel Ruano
46 years old. The Catalan coach was in the Málaga youth academy until he joined the Betis subsidiary on 19/20. He achieved promotion to Second B from Third and put the team in First RFEF staying very close to the promotion phase. He played in the First Division with Málaga, Atlético de Madrid, Rayo Vallecano and Mérida.
Atletico Sanluqueño / Pedro Buenaventura
56 years old. The Sevillian is one of the veterans of the category, especially since he took the coaching title when he was 22 years old... He is the son of Pedro Buenaventura Gil, who was the coach of Betis. This will be his third season in charge of Sanluqueño in this stage since he coached Sanluqueño in 1989 for the first time. He was Betis youth academy manager for five seasons and also sports director of Cacereño.

These last two seasons at the helm of Sevilla Atlético have been very positive in Segunda B.
Alcoyano /Vicente Parras
45 years old. The man from Alicante put the morality team in the First RFEF and eliminated Real Madrid from the Cup, so they won the renewal. In professional football, he has trained little: six games in the Second Division, replacing Toril in Elche and the modest Ontinyent in Second B for two seasons. In the first he almost got promoted to promotion and in the second the club was relegated to Third due to financial problems and the campaign did not finish. He trained as a coach in the Elche youth academy and was second to Vicente Mir.
Villarreal B / Miguel Álvarez.

Cultural eliminated them.
Castellón / Sergi Escobar
46 years old. He led the team's last two games last season in Segunda A and can be considered a home coach. Already in 2017/2018 he was the coach who promoted the Orellut team to Second B and that he had started the campaign directing the subsidiary. In Second B he only held four games. He won the Colombian league with América de Cali in the 19/20 season as second coach of Argentine Juan Cruz. Last season he signed for Castellón from Sibenik, from the first Croatian.

Llagostera / Oriol Alsina.
52 years old. The already mythical Catalan coach continues incombustible at the head of the team of which he is the alma mater... he arrived there in the 99/00 campaign. From 2004 to 2013 he achieved five promotions with the club... Now he already has eight in 16 seasons. This will be his fourth consecutive campaign at the helm of Llagostera after a brief hiatus in 2017/2018 and having joined the team in the Third Division. Until 2015 he did not obtain the title of technician and he trained for many years with a kit file.
Sabadell / Antonio Hidalgo
42 years old. He came to Sabadell from AEKLarnaca, where he had retired there as a footballer. In Cyprus he trained as an assistant coach and won titles. Despite the relegation of the Catalan club at the last moment, he has been given continuity in office, something rarely seen in Spanish football. It will be his fourth consecutive campaign in charge of the harlequinados, whom he also led to Second.
CD San Fernando / Nacho Castro
50 years. The Avilés coach began last season directing Andorra. The Andalusian club was the last to confirm its coach, on July 6, after several problems with Stankovic's settlement. Castro was a player for 15 seasons in Segunda B and another four in Segunda A, three with the Barcelona affiliate. As a coach he does not have as much experience and his failed experience in the principality is the most remarkable.
