Never have queues like this been seen at the Metropolitano store, which opened four years ago. Atlético de Madrid has put on sale this Tuesday the fourth kit of the season, completely red and marked by the return of the old shield to the clothing. And the fans have swept it from early in the morning, selling it out in the online store in just over an hour.
The stadium's official store had barely opened when a hundred fans were already lining up outside the stadium, despite the frigid temperatures. It has been the constant throughout the morning, in which hundreds of fans have gone through the coliseum to buy clothing that they have been demanding from the entity for years.
The club launched this fourth jersey, which the team will debut this Wednesday against Real, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Club Atlético de Madrid name. A very important percentage of the red and white parish has been asking for the return of the old shield for years and they still do not understand why it was changed five years ago, along with the move from the Vicente Calderón to San Blas.
In fact, there is an important part of the fans that has maintained a small boycott of clothing with the new shield ever since. They are clear that they are not going to buy anything with "the logo" and they longed for the return of the previous one. A return that, in turn, has a small dose of controversy.
Many fans have already complained that there are no children's sizes. Also the high price of clothing, which reaches 90 euros for a completely red shirt.
Images of fans inside the store show not only the queues, but also how the stock of this clothing has gone through the roof. In the online store it was made available to the fans at 10:00 a.m.... and by 11:30 a.m. it already appeared "out of stock" and exhausted. The new Atlético shirt is being a success and the fans take the opportunity to once again ask the club to recover its lifetime emblem.
