The national government defined the official calendar for 2022. The Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports announced the holiday schedule for next year, established by the decree 789 signed by President Alberto Fernández, which will be published on Monday in the Official Gazette , and that foresees for next year 12 immovable holidays, two transferable and three for tourist purposes, which accounts for a total of 17 holidays .
According to the official calendar, the first holiday is, as usual, January 1st. For the next festive date, we will have to wait more than a month: it is the carnival holiday , which will fall in 2021 on February 28 and March 1.
Next year there will be four long weekends of four days each, namely: from Saturday, February 26 to Tuesday, March 1; from Friday 17 to Monday 20 June; from Friday 7 to Monday 10 October; and from Thursday the 8th to Sunday the 11th of December-, which will contribute to boosting getaways and, with them, the reactivation of tourist activity.
