The honeymoon was short-lived for a newlywed couple from Chicago, who were so hurt by guests who didn't show up to their Jamaican wedding that they were hit with a $240 bill for expenses.
The couple's decision, likely to be a death sentence for those friendships, sparked a debate online about whether it was justified or in bad taste, after a HuffPost editor shared the bill on Twitter.
Judging by the image, which spreads like wildfire on social networks, the dream wedding in Jamaica, held at the Royalton Negril Resort & Spa, would have cost about 120 dollars per head and the bill would include the guest and his companion.

Because you did not call us or give us proper notice that you would not be attending, this amount is what you owe us for paying for your seats in advance. Although many thought it was a joke, the bill and the couple, whom the New York Post identified as Doug Simmons, 44, and Dedra McGee, 43; they are very real.
"Four times we asked, 'Are you available to come? Can you come?' And they kept saying 'Yes,'" Simmons told the Post. "We had to pay up front in Jamaica, this was a destination wedding."
Simmons clarified that it is not about money, but that he and his wife felt hurt and disrespected by the guests who did not attend and did not notify.
"Nobody said or texted me, 'Hey, we can't come. That's all I was asking for. If you tell me you can't come, I'll understand, but don't tell me anything and then let me pay for you and your companion. I took it personally," said the groom.
