This 2021 Riddley Scott wanted to take a look back to remember the life and death of Maurizio Gucci, heir of the famous luxury mark that takes his last name and the impact of this film has placed the compass of interest on the creole, a yacht ofluxury that remains in the hands of the family and whose history also deserves a script. The film that has directed and versions the book-repair The House of Gucci, by Marcia Gay Forden, has returned to this Italian family.A saga marked by fashion, internal struggles to take the reins of the house and especially for the murder of what was its leader, Maurizio, played by Adam Driver. The crime was perpetrated by a hitman hired by his ex -wife, Patrizia Reggiani, a role that Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta embodies, better known by Lady Gaga.
Reggiani, known as the ‘Black Widow’, had two daughters with Gucci: Alessandra and Allegra, heirs of his father's fortune, when he had already been expelled from the firm. The brand was bought at the time by Investcorp, an investment society based in the kingdom of Bahrein and currently belongs to Kering, luxury firms holding of the Frenchman François-Henri Pinault and which is also the owner of Balenciaga, Brioni, SaintLaurent or Ulysse Nardin.
Taking the red thread of history, Pinault is not just owner since 1999 of the brand that has been portrayed in the Scott movie.Since 2009 he is also the husband of Salma Hayek Jiménez Valgarma, an actress who in the filmed version of -The House of Gucci plays Giuseppina Auriemma, seer, confidant and collaborator of Patrizia Reggiani in the murder of her ex -husband on March 27, 1995.
Gucci led a life with his wife, although he fired his expenses by sharing his life with Paola Franchi: luxury vehicles, trips, properties and, as a good millionaire, a yacht, although with nuances.Instead of commissioning a new one, he fell in love with a 1927 sailboat, Creole, which he located in poor condition after an intense marine life.Gucci set aimed at giving him a second life to return the splendor of his early years.
The entrepreneur invested a fortune in restoration and reform work that took place for more than a five years in Italian, German and Mallorcan shipyards. The yacht was ready in 1989 and recovered the same aspect it had when his first shipowner, the American tycoon Alexander Smith Cochran wanted to afford a whim, suspecting that he did not have many years left: he was sick of tuberculosis.
When the ship was baptized with the original name of Vara, the champagne bottle used for the symbolic ceremony had to launch up to three times against the helmet to break. For many, that was a symbol of bad luck and, at the outset, his first shipowner could only enjoy it for a few months.
Lee tambiénOnassis and niarchos were eternal enemies and loudly used celebrities, celebrating excessive parties, signed great contracts and built huge ships as an element of power against the opposite: the older and more important, the more they boasted to have more weight and social prestige than the othershipownerAs for marriages, Onassis was more discreet: he only married twice, while Niarchos did it up to five times. His third wife, Eugenia Livanos died aboard Creole in 1970. In the official version she always said that she was by an overdose of barbiturates, although the shadow of suspicion about other possible causes was always left.
Since the death of Livanos, Niarchos lost interest in the sailboat, although not in recreation ships, as it had up to seven different yates.Creole ended up sold in 1977 to the Danish government to become a civil ship-school and was used as a young man with addictions.About to be shipwrecked in 1982, she was put up for sale in very bad condition and that was when the yacht and Gucci linked her destinations.
After the important remodeling works topped in the shipyards of Mallorca de Palma, a regular base of the sailboat, Creole was enjoyed by Gucci, his partner and his daughters. The ex -wife of her always demanded to be able to use it for one month a year, although she was never allowed.Today the shipowner is the youngest daughter: Allegra, always attentive to the day to day of the sailboat and permanently worried about the maintenance and image of her.The few times that she speaks in public about the ship, she remembers that Creole is the memory of her father, because she had it as one of her places of happiness.
The ship is always impeccable because it is in the market of the nautical charter."For the price, this is a type of yacht for clients of very high purchasing power and, in addition, those who want to spend a few days aboard are usually good connoisseurs of the sea," says Lifestyle Judith Estrella, co-owner of Charter andDreams, yacht rental and management agency in Ibiza, Mallorca and Barcelona.“It's a classic. The property has the fixation of maintaining the original spirit and its crew are at the level of an impeccable ship, which will be 95 years old, ”says she.
On board they can travel and spend up to 11 people in six cabins. These are attended by a crew of 16 people, led by a British captain.A good part of the staff is Spanish, as the first and second officer or the machine manager, while the chef is Italian and the head of the service on board is of the Philippines.
This whole story, this impeccability, the professionalism of the crew and to be able to enjoy a 700 -ton wooden sailboat, 65 meters of length and a candle surface that exceeds 1,200 square meters has a price: the rent is set between 224,000 and266,000 euros per week, to which extra expenses must be added.
