Quito, Aug 16 (EFE).- The Municipality of Quito launched this Monday its new page to encourage romantic tourism within a strategy for the gradual reactivation of the city in the post-pandemic era.

Under the slogan of "Quito Romance, to fall in love even more", the website projects the Ecuadorian capital as the ideal destination for a proposal, celebrate a wedding, enjoy the honeymoon or remember moments on a wedding anniversary.

"Quito offers spectacular settings for these dreams to come true. We are full of an infinite variety of places, very close to the clouds, with a historic center of inexhaustible cultural heritage, full of life, romance, nature, in an area with all services", it is indicated in it.

This initiative appeals to all the positive energies of the center of the world, as the city is located on the equinoctial line, in order to attract those couples who want to start a new beginning in their lives here.

WEDDINGS FOR ALL TASTES

And if it is a wedding, the Ecuadorian capital is presented as an alternative for lovers of all faiths, remembering that Quito was declared an interreligious coexistence zone since 2019 by the main confessions of the city.

"Being so, the perfect destination that provides a space for various religious and spiritual practices in order to consolidate a secular or sacred union with the purpose of finding a feeling of connection with their worlds of interaction with the beings, spirits and gods that make up their ideologies," the page highlights.

It also awakens its attraction for the most traditional couples in a city where there is no lack of churches, some as imposing as the Cathedral of Quito or that of the Society of Jesus, in the heart of the colonial historic center.

And even under an ancestral ceremony with "a ritual and spiritual celebration that comes from pre-Hispanic Andean traditions, where the elements of nature -water, wind, sun and earth- are fundamental pillars to symbolize the solemnity of the union of a couple."

These links take place in sacred places and special dates: full moon, solstice and equinox, to enhance the cosmic part that strengthens the spirituality of the ceremony, taking into account the four cardinal points.

A TYPE OF DESTINATION MORE AND MORE REQUIRED

The official launch of Quito as a romantic destination took place last November as a proposal for reactivating tourism through the articulation of the entire value chain around weddings, honeymoons or even anniversaries.

Located at 2,800 meters of altitude, with an old town declared a World Heritage Site, and surrounded by rural Andean landscapes, the Ecuadorian capital seeks with this strategy to join other international destinations in this category.

The project includes a guide to services and offers of accommodation, restaurants and special routes and involves related sectors such as jewelers, florists, decorators and even tailors.

Quito aspires to attract any type of celebration related to love and family, from engagements to weddings, honeymoons, renewal of vows, bachelor parties, rehearsal dinners, baby moon, family moon and wedding brunch. EFE
