One of the main assets of Florida is its good weather throughout the year: it is not for nothing that it is known as the “sunshine state”. One of the most popular pastimes among the local population is to enjoy a good sunset from one of the thousands of ideal places for it.
To make things easier, we have selected the ones that we consider the best.
Florida is famous for the high purchasing power of its inhabitants. The wealthiest areas, like Palm Beach, where the median home price has shot up to $14 million, are in the Southeast.
However, many of the state's top attractions are concentrated on the West Coast, where you don't have to win the lottery to enjoy them. Cedar Key is a good example of this: a city located on an island with multiple beaches and piers that allow you to enjoy beautiful sunsets.
Cedar Key is located on the Nature Coast, so there are plenty of outdoor activities nearby.
We should not confuse Naples, the beautiful city in southern Italy characterized by its medieval architecture and delicious food, with Naples (Florida), which stands out more for its sparkling beaches and the dolphins that come close to them.
We recommend visiting the famous Naples Pier, which is more than 300 meters long. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the horizon and the possibility of seeing the occasional aquatic mammal diving into the water.
Another highly recommended activity is to visit Keewaydin Island, a hidden paradise just two and a half hours away with white-sand beaches and a wide variety of wildlife, such as turtles and storks.
To the north of Naples we find a series of islands. The largest of these is Sanibel, a beautiful place with Caribbean-style beaches and spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico.
One of its main tourist attractions is its lighthouse, which is located at one of the ends of the island and offers impressive 360-degree views. Sanibel is a great place to explore, and if you're too small, you can visit Captiva Island, as they're linked by a bridge.
Key West, or Key West, is a really interesting place: it is the southernmost city in Florida, the last stop on the famous Route 1 and a very popular honeymoon destination, which is not surprising, since it offers many places to enjoy a romantic sunset.
Straddling the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, it offers breathtaking views that will delight newlyweds.
The sunsets in the area are so famous that they include a ritual: a variety of street artists of all kinds are distributed around Mallory Square to show all their talent when the sun begins to hide behind the sea.
Those who wish can board an 1850 schooner and have a drink on deck watching the sunset. Without a doubt, those of Key West are some of the most beautiful sunsets in all of the United States.
The west coast of Florida stretches for more than 1,000 km, so choosing the best site could take hours. Now, if we want to be on the safe side, we recommend Clearwater, which includes a section of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, so we can take a sunset cruise and enjoy the last rays of the sun from the deck and the wonderful flush that the sunset.
For those who prefer to enjoy the show from dry land, Pier 60 is another popular spot to delight in the sights and sounds of Florida wildlife.
We no longer have an excuse not to enjoy the best sunsets in Florida, whose beautiful west coast would be perfect for a tour of beautiful sunsets. As they say, sunsets are proof that, no matter what happens, every day can end in the best possible way.
