Unless there is an error, omission or inaccuracy in the documents sent by the health center, parents will no longer have to go to the Civil Registry. Also, not for registration, but they are documents that you must collect before leaving the hospital:

Registration of the newborn
Nowadays, most of the Town Councils receive the information directly from the Civil Registry and automatically register the child in the register, so the presence of the parents is not required. The City Council will register the baby at the parents' address, if they live together, or at the mother's if not.
Where? It is done directly by the Civil Registry itself ex officio a few days after registration, by contacting the City Council. There are localities where it is not done automatically, so parents must go to the Town Hall.
When? In the days following the registration in the Civil Registry, since they are the ones who, generally, manage it.
